In order to improve the efficiency or device performance, the most of the organic electronics devices require the multi-layered structures consisting of carrier injection (or extraction) layers so-called buffer layers, carrier transporting layers, carrier blocking layers and active layers. It is thus important to bring out the performance of each material and the interfacial electronic phenomena at the electrode/film interfaces.
In this study, we have investigated the of solution processable organic field effect transistors with multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) buffer layers. We have used MWCNTs in order to enhance the injection of both electrons and holes in PCBM (n-type) FETs and P3HT (p-type) FETs.
We also investigated the effect of surface coating of gate insulator by polystylene (PS) and the effect of the position of MWCNTs.
