△ [14a-B9-5] Formation of colloidal assembly due to interactive evolution of laser trapping and propagation
Keywords:Laser trap, Light propagation, colloidal particle
We demonstrate the optical trapping and assembling of colloidal particles at glass/solution interface. We here found that, the propagation of laser from the focus to the outside of a formed assembly leads to expansion of the assembly much larger than the irradiated area with sticking out rows of linearly aligned particles like horns. This is caused by interactive evolution of laser trapping and propagation. The shape of the assembly, its structure, and the number of horns can be controlled by laser polarization. We expect that this optically evolved assembling dynamics will offer a novel experimental approach for assembling and crystallization of nanoparticles and molecules upon laser trapping.
