We will report the occurrence of period rotary motion of polymer microparticles in oil phase under a stationary direct-current (DC) electric field. Recently, we have reported that periodic motions are generated under DC field on a water-in-oil droplet. In the present study, we adapted a versatile polymer microparticle as the moving object, instead of a water droplet. It was found that rotary motion of the polymer particle is generated and such regular motion continues as far as the static electric field is applied. Interestingly, the polymer particle exhibits orbital motion together with spinning motion.
