[14p-B11-13] Instabilities of Organic Devices Caused by Water Molecules in Ambient Air: A Mechanism Attributable to Electrode/Organic Semiconductor Interfaces
Keywords:charge injection barrier, interface dipole, bias stress
Organic transistors show instabilities (bias stress, hysteresis) in their operation in ambient air, which has been understood to be caused by water molecules diffused from the air to the gate insulator/organic semiconductor interface. In this presentation, we will discuss another mechanism of the water-related instability: i.e., modulation of charge injection barrier heights by orientation of the electric dipoles of water molecules at the source/drain electrode surfaces.
