[14p-B12-2] Numerical study on coherence of thermal phonon for manipulating heat conduction

Knowledge on characteristic lengths such as coherence length and mean free path of phonons is indispensable in the manipulation of thermal conductivity by structural control. Recent first-principles-based heat conduction analysis quantitatively revealed order of phonon mean free path but investigation on coherence length, describing wave nature of phonons, is limited. In this work, by performing molecular dynamics simulations to model crystals, we have evaluated interference of displacement field and coherence length of thermal phonons.
