We have been studying a high resolution temperature sensor by applying the method for accurately measuring a long optical fiber length. In the last report, the temperature gradient of 6.48 cm/deg C was obtained in the temperature range from 0 to 25 deg C using a 1 km single-mode optical fiber with hytrel jacket. From this result, the resolution of the temperature sensor was estimated to be 3 x104 deg C. In this study, we aimed to expand the temperature range of the sensing. As a result, a decreased temperature gradient of 4.82 cm/deg C was obtained in the temperature range from 25 to 60 deg C, which was considered to be based on the thermal metamorphism of the hytrel jacket.
