Keywords:LiDAR, slow light, silicon photonics

LiDAR visualizes the environmental distance information. In these year, it attacts attention toward ADAS system and sensors in robots. However, it is difficult to use conventional heavy machines in these applications widely. This study proposes a novel LiDAR based on silicon photonics and slow light. Here we employ FMCW system in which FM-modulated cw light is irradiated on environmental objects and reflected light is coherently detected. Slow light will allow dense integration of modulators, receivers, and high-resolution beam steering device.
