In recent years, non-fullerene acceptor based organic solar cells have attracted considerable attention since they have a broad optical absorption feature and a flexibility of energy level control. Subphthalocyanine (SubPc) acceptor, in particularly, exhibited superior device efficiency of over 8%. To clarify the energy loss mechanisms in the SubPc acceptor based solar cells in detail, we investigated the electronic structures at SubPc/buffer/Ag heterointerfaces by means of synchrotron based in-situ ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS).
