△ [14p-B5-8] Electronic Structure of poly(3-hexylthiophene) in P3HT:PC₆₁BM Bulk Heterojunction

Electronic structure at P3HT/PC₆₁BM interface in their blend, used for organic solar cell, is critical in carrier generation, but detailed study is needed. We analyzed the electronic structure of P3HT in the P3HT:PC₆₁BM blend employing Xe-UPS whose probing depth is longer than He-UPS. Combining He-UPS and X-ray diffraction, the HOMO shift toward higher binding energy in the bulk was caused by less crystallinity of P3HT than that at the blend surface.
