▼ [14p-C41-3] Origin of the large magnetoresistance in Ge1-xMnx granular thin films
Keywords:spintronics, granular, XMCD
Ge1–xMnx granular films are a promising material for spintronics applications due to the large positive magnetoresistance (MR) up to 280%. Previous studies suggested that this MR is related to nanospinodal decomposition into ferromagnetic metallic Mn-rich nanoparticles and a paramagnetic Mn-poor matrix; however, its microscopic origin of the MR has not been clarified yet. In this study, we clarify the origin of the MR by using a new method to investigate the magnetic properties of the nanoparticles and the matrix separately using X-ray magnetic circular dichroism.
