We are studying on the formation of a non-diffracting, optical needle spot at the focus which is produced by focusing of an annular-shaped beam. We focus attention on the fact that the annular-shaped component in the focusing has a specific converging angle. This fact may lead to the formation of an optical needle spot without any degradation even in the presence of strong spherical aberration. In this talk, we present the experimental realization of the optical needle spot under the strong spherical aberration.
