Keywords:Isotope separation

Many experiments have been done or are planned to observe the neutrino-less double beta decay (0νββ). Among double beta decay nuclei, 48Ca is considered as the most promising candidate for the experiment because 48Ca has the highest Qββ-value (4.27MeV). However, its small natural isotopic abundance (0.187%) is a disadvantage and a development of isotopic enrichment technique is awaited. We are investigating laser isotope separation methods by photo-deflection and selective photoionization. The experimental results will be reported.
