▲ [14p-P23-11] Modification of Plasma-on-Chip Device for Stable Plasma treatment of Cells
キーワード:Plasma-on-Chip, Atmospheric Pressure Plasma, Cell
Low-temperature atmospheric pressure plasmas have been used in biomedical field. In this application, the plasma is used as stimuli for initiating biological reactions. We have been developing a MEMS device for irradiating cells cultured in microwells with low-temperature atmospheric pressure plasma. The MEMS device was referred to as “Plasma-on-Chip”. In this study, we modified the device structure. After the modification, three-fold increase in continuous operation time was achieved. During the device operation, we visualized the delivery of plasma-generated reactive species to the microwells. In the biological experiment. Green algae, Chlorella cells were cultured in the microwells of the Plasma-on-Chip device and plasma irradiation was conducted. The plasma-irradiation decreased the fluorescence intensity which was derived from the chlorophyll in the Chlorella cells. It was shown that the Chlorella cells were inactivated.
