[15a-B5-12] Fabrication of Poly(perylenediimide) on Graphene by Vapor Deposition Polymerization
Keywords:Vapor deposition polymerization, perylene, graphene
Vapor deposition polymerization has been used to successfully prepare polyimide thin films in our early research; moreover, the polymer chains can be aligned perpendicular to the substrate surface by this method. From the material point of view, perylenediimide is well known as an n-type organic semiconductor suitable for application in electronic devices. In this study, we prepare the perylenediimide polymer films on graphene and focus on the orientation of the polymers by noncovalent stacking with graphene through π-π interaction, and via control the substrates temperatures. Graphene was fabricated with CVD method and characterized by Raman spectroscopy. The chemical structure and the molecular orientation of the polymer films were characterized by using FT-IR spectroscopy and atomic force microscope. The resulting orientations was found to be dependent on the preparation conditions.
