It is difficult for a multi-junction solar cell (MJSC) to estimate separately an open circuit voltage for each subcell. We calculated an open circuit voltage for each subcell of InGaP/GaAs/InGaAsP/InGaAs solar cell by absolute electroluminescence-efficiency measurements. In a result, the calculated values of Voc were very close to those of the single-junction solar cells with the same base materials. Therefore, this method is very effective for MJSC.
