[15p-B4-9] µc-Si Solar Cell with Photonic Crystal Formed on Top Surface

We have investigated wide-band light trapping utilizing large-area resonant effect at the photonic band edge in photonic crystals, which has periodic structure of the order of light wavelength, for improving the conversion efficiency of thin-film silicon solar cells. In this work, we study the influence of the film structure of the microcrystalline silicon (µc-Si) layer and the lattice structure of the photonic crystal toward further progress of µc-Si solar cells with photonic crystals on top surface.
