[15p-P14-9] Radio-Photoluminescence in KBr:Sm Single Crystal

Sm-doped KBr single crystals were synthesized by Bridgeman method and we have studied the radio-photoluminescence properties. By X-ray irradiation, the doped Sm3+ ion was reduced to the Sm2+ state, and this reduction process was clearly seen in photoluminescence spectrum. Upon heat-treatment, the Sm2+ singal was effectively suppressed. Analyses with thermally-stimulated luminescence suggested that themally detrapped holes recombine with Sm2+ ion, followed by the Sm2+→Sm3+ reaction.
