Physical properties of A-site ordered perovskite cobaltites, RBaCo2Ox, can be controlled over wide ranges by varying R and oxygen content, although the oxygen content range allowable in conventional high-temperature syntheses is limited. In this study, we succeessfully expanded the oxygen range by topotactic oxidation. The obtained new phase, YBaCo2O6, exhibited large crystal magnetic anisotropy and spin state transition.
