[16a-A25-14] Doping Mechanism in Stabilized Amorphous Se Films

Keiji Tanaka1 (1.Hokkaido Univ.)

Keywords:amorphous, selenium, vidicon

Applications of a-Se to ultrahigh-sensitive vidicons and x-ray imagers are now progressing, while the doping mechanism producing stabilized a-Se films utilized in the devices, with typical concentrations of 0.2% As and 20ppm Cl, remains to be studied. The conventional idea presumes the charged-defect model, though it may face some problems. In addition, the ratio between As and Cl has not been interpreted.
The present work proposes a new doping mechanism through ab initio calculations of HOMO-LUMO energies etc. of several Se-containing clusters.
