[16a-A34-4] Thermoelectric materials with controlled microstructure: current status and future challenges
Keywords:thermoelectric materials, microstructure, phase transformation
Thermoelectric conversion technology has a potential to contribute to society as one of the solutions for the energy problems. This requires the developments of thermoelectric materials that are composed of environmentally friendly elements and exhibit excellent thermoelectric properties. Nanostructuring has recently been recognized as a promising way to improved thermoelectric figures of merit zT. Self-assembled nanostructures have been introduced into thermoelectric materials utilizing phase transformations. In this paper, we discuss the current status and future prospects of studies on nanostructuring thermoelectric materials focusing on nanostructure control and its functions for their thermoelectric properties.
