Terahertz (THz) electromagnetic wave includes a specific resonance frequency range which corresponds to the inter-molecular vibration or relaxation mode such as hydrogen bonds. It is believed that THz wave has almost no damage on human tissues, thus it is expected to apply for the non-invasive examination. However, spectrometry by transmitted light is difficult due to its serious absorption with water. In this research, we use sub-terahertz wave (frequency is near 0.1 THz) whose transmittance is higher than that of THz wave, to measure reflectivity of glucose water solution. It is shown that the monotonous decrease of reflectivity is confirmed with respect to glucose concentration. According to this research result, sub-terahertz wave is expected to be applied to the non-invasive measurements of blood sugar concentration.
