[16a-B2-7] Comparison of Performance of Passive Measurement with Active Measurement on Material-Classification Using a THz Body Scanner

We made passive and active measurements, which observe thermal radiation and reflected wave from an object respectively, by using a passive THz body scanner in order to classify materials of the object, and compare the performance of two measurements. We have found the passive measurement is superior to the active one, which is due to that the latter is more affected by reflection at a surface of a shielding matter before the object.
