[16p-P1-7] Verification of orthogonal polarization excited terahertz wave surface emission

In this study, we tried to verify the novel terahertz wave surface generation method.We used LiNbO3 which is the uniaxial crystal.Polarizations of pump and signal wave were set to extraordinary and ordinary of the crystal, respectively.The refractive index of the extraordinary wave is changed by rotating crystal angle θ.The phase matching condition of THz surface emission was satisfied when wave-numbers of pump and signal waves were the same by adjusting the crystal angle θ.The effective nonlinear optical coefficient depend on the crystal angle θ and φ was analyzed, and the optimum angle of the crystal, θ = 20 deg. and φ = 30 deg. at 1 THz was obtained.
