[19a-P2-20] Dynamic Lighting Induced Molecular Flow and Control of Molecular Orientation Patterns in Polymer Films

Precise molecular orientation in polymer film has great importance in fabrication of specialty films having highly functional properties. Although there are two common procedures, i.e. mechanical or photochemical ones, to control of the orientation, they have drawbacks: for example, the former has difficulty on microfabrication and the latter requires the combination of polarized light and specific chemical structure of molecules. Recently, we have found that, when photopolymerization are conducted with actinic light moving at constant rate, molecular orientation along with the motion of light. Here we report the orientation of molecules in a unidirectional or a periodic manner.
