Benzodithiophene-dimer (BDT-dimer) derivatives are excellent in stability in the atmosphere, it would be expected to exhibit high carrier mobility. However, BDT-dimer is poor film-forming properties, did not lead to fabrication of a TFT that shows a high carrier mobility. Therefore, by giving an alkyl chain at each end of the BDT-dimer, it was found that the film-forming property is improved. The reason is that the amount is due to the anisotropy of the interaction between molecules increases as indicated by a quantum chemical calculation.
