Solid state printable solar cells have recently attracted considerable attention due to their low cost. In this study, In order to fabricate photovoltaic cells with the structure of FTO/compact-TiO2/porous-TiO2/BiI3/spiro-MeOTAD/Au, the BiI3 thin film was deposited by spin-coat onto a FTO glass/compact-TiO2/porous-TiO2 substrate. The solar cell with the BiI3 thin film exhibited an open-circuit voltage of 0.32 V, a short-circuit current density of 0.48 mA/cm2, a fill factor of 0.36, and a power conversion efficiency of 0.056%.
