We report our development of a waveform-controlled sub-TW-class intense IR source and intense mid-IR generation that are based on ultra-broadband optical parametric amplification in BIBO crystals. Using the former light source, we produced isolated attosecond pulses around the carbon K edge, which can be used for soft-X-ray absorption spectroscopy of carbon materials. Using the latter source, EO sampling was achieved by using few-cycle pulses in visible. These new technologies are expected to open new opportunities in attosecond and sub-cycle spectroscopies.
