In polarization holography, the interference pattern of polarization is recorded in the polarization-sensitive recording material, and the polarized signal is reconstructed by the illumination of the reference wave. Although the study of polarization holography has a long history, the conventional theory based on the Jones vector representation of polarization is barely satisfactory. In this talk, we discuss a new theory that based on the 3D vector representation of polarization and the general expression of the response function of polarization-sensitive recording material in tensor form.
