For high-mobility organic thin film transistors, formation of single crystalline thin films and control of crystal axis in channel region are one of challenges. We focused on thin-film growth of soluble organic semiconductors using liquid crystal solvent. In previous study, we have suceeded in formation of uniaxially-oriented single crystalline thin films composed of soluble organic semiconductors. However, evaluation of film structure was not enough for organic thin film transisors. Here, we report the relationship between orientation of nematic liquid crystal and crystal axis of single crystalline film.
