[19p-W321-1] Real-time observation of phase-change in an organic film
using a mid-infrared free-electron laser IV
Keywords:organic thin films,transmission spectroscopy,mid-infrared
We study the structural change of crystalline polymer (polyethylene) films using a mid-IR free-electron laser (KU-FEL). This is a ral-time in-situ detection of the phase change in a polymer film upon laser-heating and natural cooling with the use of transmission spectroscopy.
In the previous report we presented the time-dependent change of FEL transmission after the laser-heating. In this presentation we show that the FEL transmission change can be directly correlated to the film temperature, and thus the instantaneous change of film temperature can be deduced by transmission spectroscopy.
