Various types of sugar chain exist on the cell membrane, and they play important role on signal transduction. Moreover, it is also known that cancer cells have unique type of sugar chain on their cell membrane. Therefore, selective sugar chain sensing will make it possible to detect valuable cells, such as cancer cells, selectively. In this research, our group aimed to develop sugar chain sensing transistor based on field effect transistor, FET, with its surface modified by molecularly imprinted polymer.
