First, research on the organic solar cells in Japan is reviewed. Next, author’s research on the bandgap science for organic solar cells including (i) pn-control of single and co-desposited films of organic semiconductors by impurity doping, (ii) Ionization sensitization of doping, (iii) ppm-doping effects for organic photovoltaic cells, will be presented.
