Au-TiO2 nanoparticle system is studied by using PEEM having a spatial resolution of 40 nm. When 10 fs laser was used to illuminate, the mixed region where Au attached TiO2 particles are distributed is brighter than TiO2 region by several times, but when 150 fs laser was used, mixed region was not brighter.
Because the spectral width of 150 fs laser is about 10 nm and that of 10fs laser is about 300 ns, the difference is interpreted that two wavelength illumination is required to make Au attached TiO2 bright.When scanning wavelength of fs laser, two jumps are noticed. These are considered to correspond to bandgap and ionization potential of TiO2.
