Fe nanowires were fabricated on the SiO2/Si substrate coated with FeO or Ag nanoparticles using chemical vapor deposition. It has been clarified that both FeO and Ag nanoparicles were good catalyest to make standing Fe nanowires. Electron diffraction pattern shows the nanowires compose of bcc-Fe and growth dirction is (100).
