To fabricate specialty materials, control of molecular orientation has great importance. Although photo-alignment methods have attracted much attention due to the contactless process and advantages on micro-fabrication, they have some drawbacks; for instance, requirement of linearly polarized light. Recently, we have focused on a molecular orientation method by which molecular orientation are induced by photopolymerization process with spatial gradient of light intensity. In this study, we evaluated the mechanism and fabricated polymer films with various molecular orientation patterns.
