A science and mathematics research event for high school students “Fukui Science and Mathematics Grand Prix”, which consists mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology divisions, have been held in every years since 2008. The project team of each division consists several high school teachers, a teachers’ consultant on the Fukui Prefectural Board of Education, and a University Faculty as an advisor. The effects on the development of the teaching ability of high school teachers by contributing the project team of the Grand Prix are discussed in a point of view as the advisor.
