All-solid-state nanoionics device composed of Fe3O4 ferromagnetic thin film and Li+ ion conducting solid electrolyte was fabricated to tune magnetic properties and magnetoresistance (MR) which are key factors for creation of novel high-density magnetic storage devices. Electronic conductivity, magnetization, and MR were reversibly tuned by Li+ insertion and removal. The tuning of various properties in Fe3O4 was caused by an electron donation to Fe3+ ions. The present technique should lead us to novel class of magnetic devices based on the reversible switching of magnetization and spin polarization.
