To enhance the sensitivity of terahertz sensing, using resonators for sensing applications have attract wide attention. We investigate the use of a high-Q phonic crystal cavity to enhance the sensitivity instead of conventional metal-based resonators with low Q due to the intrinsic absorption loss in terahertz region. Here we report the result of terahertz sensing using photonic crystal and comparison with conventional resonators.
