We developed a high speed imaging technique to map molecular recognition events by using an amplitude-modulation atomic force microscopy equipped with a photo-thermal excitation technique. In this work, we employed this method to image the molecular recognition events of streptavidin and biotin, which were immobilized on a substrate and probe, respectively. In this presentation, we discuss the principle of this technique, the optimization of the experimental conditions, and perspectives in future.
