[20p-P5-4] Motor Drive Control using Power Distar composed of High-Power LED and Solar Cell

In 2010, the author found that a completely new amplifier device similar to conventional bipolar transistor could be produced by combining high-power LED and Si photodiode or Si solar cell. He named the novel device "distar". Using the distar, not only voltage amplification but also current and power amplification are possible. And, he has developed many practical audio amplifiers so far using the distar. In this study, the author has succeeded in the trials to control automobile and ship using high-power LED and Si solar cell, although presently at the level of miniature model. It may be possible to realize a mega-power distars capable of driving real automobiles and ships in near future.
