I will first explain briefly the current situation of the so-called materials informatics (we call it Materials research by Information Integration: MI2) in the world. Then I will introduce the organization and the aims of our related JST project, "Materials research by Information Integration" Initiative (MI2I). Most importantly, I would like to explain what sort of new aspects MI2 will introduce to materials science by showing the concepts and some examples of MI2.
