[21a-H111-5] Microwave absorption at heterogeneous interfaces

We recently observed a characteristic heat generation of the sample composed of layered heterostructure of two different materials possessing low microwave absorptivity. We hypothesize that the characteristic heating is attributed to the dieletric loss of the rearrangement of dipoles at the heterogeneous interfaces in the layered structure. In this study, we have investigated interfacial microwave heating in new combinations of metal nanopartiles and oxide substrates. In addition, we discuss the interfacial heating observed for metal particles deposited on defined crystal facets of the oxide substrates.
