Superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SSPDs) are expected as high performance single photon detector and have already used in various applications. In SSPD, utilization of lower energy gap nanowire or narrower nanowire is possible way to improve detection efficiency further. However, both ways make superconducting critical current smaller, leading smaller signal to noise ratio and worse timing resolution. To resolve this, superconducting nanowire avalanche photon detector have proposed. In this work, we report on the fabrication and evaluation of 2-Snap device.
