[21p-P13-7] Competition Between Stimulated-Emission Modes in a Cylindrical Dye Solution
Keywords:stimulated emission,dye,emission mode
A polyethylene-glycol solution of rhodamine was enclosed in a cylindrical pore (2 mm diameter, 1.4 mm height) of a silicone rubber. When it was excited by a green laser pulse from the top, the radial fluorescence increased nonlinearly due to stimulated emission, suppressing the axial and whispering-gallery mode emission. When it was excited from the side, the whispering-gallery mode exhibited strong emission, while the radial emission was too weak to measure.
