[21p-P15-15] FMCW laser radar system using a pair of vertical-cavity-surface-emitting-laser diode

Keywords:laser diode,optical frequency scanning,distance and displacement

FMCW laser radar system using a pair of vertical-cavity-surface-emitting-laser diode has been developed. Optical frequencies of the two lasers are scanned in opposite directions, and the beat frequencies of these lasers shift by the target displacement. The sum and difference frequencies reflect the distance and the displacement of the target, respectively. These frequency components are detected at ease by mixing the two beat signals.
