[21p-S224-4] Photochromic Material Mixture for Multi-Color Volumetric Display

The color changing of photochromic material (PM) can be induced position-selectively in the cross region of two lights, which respectively control the coloration and decoloration of the PM. In this study, we found color-selectivity of a PM mixture that is composed of multiple PMs having different absorption property as well as position-selectivity. This principle make it possible to develop a full-color volumetric display with a very simple structure because the display are made by just mixing multiple PMs. We constructed a mixture composed of two PMs which are colored to yellow and blue by ultraviolet light irradiation. Furthermore, we experimentally evaluated the proposed system.
