In the last presentation, we showed the possibility that the group velocity in a parity-time (PT) symmetric coupled resonator optical waveguide (CROW) could be largely controlled with the PT phase transition, within the scope of a tight-binding model. We now present the result of the electromagnetic field simulation on a photonic-crystal PT-symmetric CROW based on buried heterostructure nanocavities, and find that the PT phase transition can be actually observed in the device. Also, we report the band smoothing in the case of a small cavity coupling rate, which hampers a sharp phase transition.
