Keywords:room-temperature multiferroic,BiFeO3,magnetic domain

BiFeO3 is a room-temperature multiferroic which possesses both ferroelectricity and antiferromagnetism. While the ferroelecricity has been widely investigated, the magnetism has not been understood deeply. It is due to a difficulty in the detection of the spiral antiferromagnetism. In order to utilize both degrees of freedom effectively, understanding of the magnetism is an urgent issue. In the presentation, we will propose a method for the detection of the magnetic domains by use of the anisotropic magnetic susceptibility of the spiral antiferromagnetism, which is easy to measure. We will also show the control of the magnetic domains by application of magnetic fields.
