Novel nondestructive testing technique combining ultrasonic guided wave and HTS-SQUID was investigated. After generating AE guided wave on a ferromagnetic pipe using an AE transmitter, a magnetic signal due to oscillation caused by the AE guided wave was measured using the HTS-SQUID, while the guided wave was measured using an AE receiver nearby the HTS-SQUID. As a result, a magnetic signal was measured on the SQUID output, which was approximately synchronized with AE sensor output. These results indicate the possibility of the newly-developed technique.
