Pt/Co structures were deposited on a flexible substrate, varying the thickness of Co. From the thickness dependence, it was confirmed that perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in the films arose from the interface magnetic anisotropy. The perpendicular magnetic anisotropy changed with a uniaxial strain, while the interface magnetic anisotropy remained unchanged. The sign of the change did not match with that expected in bulk Co, but with that of PtCo. But the interfacial PtCo alloying should yeild interface magnetic anisotropy which didn't change with the strain. More researches are needed for a consistent explanation.
